Biotech Networks Extends its Reach to Twelve US Life Science Hubs and Announces 2023-2024 Scientific Speed Networking Event Tour

New Biotech Networks Hubs in the US Midwest Region and Florida/Georgia Will Extend the Organization's Reach to Include Majority of Life Science Ecosystems

SAN DIEGO and BOSTON, June 2, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Biotech Networks, the leader in connecting life science professionals since 2008, is establishing two new regional sites to extend the organization's reach throughout the US. The new Biotech Networks hubs will be in the Midwest Region and in Florida/Georgia, allowing the organization to expand its reach across the US and to complete its coverage of the east coast. This expansion is being launched in conjunction with the 2023 Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) convention taking place in Boston June 5-8. Biotech Networks is hosting an event featuring its patent-pending Scientific Speed Networking™ activities in Boston during the BIO convention.

The Midwestern Region Biotech Networks hub will be the first unifying resource for life science news, jobs and events in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin. This region is as diverse as it is vast and boasts top notch scientific and medical research at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, Washington University in St. Louis in Missouri, Northwestern University in Illinois, along with several world class state universities. Biopharma companies include Eli Lilly in Indiana, Abbott Laboratories, AbbVie and Baxter in Illinois, Exact Sciences and Promega in Wisconsin, and Medtronic in Minnesota. This nine-state region is particularly impressive in its breadth, however until now its sheer size has prevented the development of a sense of community within it.

The Florida Georgia Biotech Networks hub will round out the organization's presence on the US East Coast, with four other hubs extending as north as Massachusetts. Florida's emerging biotech presence is distributed across the state with significant presence in Miami/West Palm Beach, Tampa/St. Petersburg, and Orlando. University of Florida's UF Innovate program, based in Gainesville, supports the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Georgia is also a fast-growing life sciences hub centered in Atlanta where the US Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Emory University are located. Clearly, this emerging region represents an exciting opportunity for new technologies and job growth for the biotechnology industry.

"Biotech Networks is pleased to support life science professionals and companies across the US in our now 12 US regional hubs," said Mary Canady, PhD, Biotech Networks President. "Our Scientific Speed Networking techniques and events have connected many thousands of scientists in California, and we can't wait to empower more researchers, professionals, and organizations to connect in 2023 and 2024."

Biotech Networks' Scientific Speed Networking techniques have been perfected over 15 years of events in California, and the organization sees them as key to creating strong communities in their hubs across the US, with plans to expand internationally. Biotech Networks is hosting its patent-pending Scientific Speed Networking June 6th 2023 (event link) in Boston during the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) conference. This event will kick off similar events throughout the US in Biotech Networks hubs, with events in Washington, DC, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Seattle planned for 2023. In 2024, events will be held monthly in US in the major and remaining hubs which will be published at a later date.

Biotech Networks Founder Mary Canady will be in attendance at BIO and available for meetings. If you are interested in setting up a meeting with her, and/or in hosting an event in your region, email info@biotechnetworks.org.
