TENURE TRACK FACULTY POSITIONS CENTER FOR MOLECULAR MEDICINE, UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA The University of Georgia announces openings for tenure track faculty positions in its new Center for Molecular Medicine (CMM; http://cmm.uga.edu). The CMM is located in a purpose-built research facility that was completed in the Summer of 2017. The CMM is dedicated to better understanding the molecular and cellular basis of human disease and translating this into new diagnostics and therapeutics. To advance this mission, we are currently seeking applications from outstanding investigators at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the following two areas: Up to two (2) tenure track faculty positions are open for candidates with interests in the following general areas of molecular medicine: • molecular, cellular and developmental models for human disease • regenerative medicine, tissue repair and tissue engineering • cancer and stem cell biology • drug discovery in human disease Please apply at http://facultyjobs.uga.edu/postings/2653 for the general positions in molecular medicine. One additional opening for a tenure track faculty member at the Assistant or Associate level is available for those with interests in biomedical glycobiology as it relates to the CMM’s core mission: translation of basic research into a better understanding of health and human disease and therapeutic/diagnostic development. The successful candidate for this position will benefit from the proximal location and strategic alignment with the Complex Carbohydrate Research Center. Specific areas of biomedical glycobiology include: • stem cell biology and regenerative medicine • human disease modeling including congenital disorders of glycosylation • drug discovery • cancer biology • immunology and vaccine development Please apply at http://facultyjobs.uga.edu/postings/2655 for the position in biomedical glycobiology. Applicants at the Assistant level must have a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent), at least two years relevant postdoctoral research experience, an outstanding publication record, and a well-developed research plan. Successful candidates will be expected to build and maintain a cutting-edge, extramurally funded research program.
